incision opening

I know it has been awhile since I have posted but have busy trying to work.  Had lap band surgery on June 18, thought I could go back to work the following Monday, boy what a mistake.  I did work because my boss was on vacation and I had to keep my word,  I came home every day took a shower and went to bed so I could work the next day.   My problem is my incisions are coming apart after having my staples removed.  I went yesterday to have the staples removed.  By the time I got home my incisions had started opening.  (I live 1 1/2 hr away from the doctors office.  Has anyone else had this problem?  If so what did you do? I had some opening of my incisions shortly after having my staples removed, but the good news is, they healed shut around 2-3 weeks thereafter. Here's what my doctor told me: Try to keep them uncovered unless you go out or go to work. That lets them breathe. Don't worry unless there's fairly significant oozing. But above all, if you get the chills, call or check into the hospital. That could be a sign of infection. I recommend (as always) keeping in contact with your doctor about it. There's no better advice than the advice that comes straight from the man himself.

I sorry to hear about your staples. I only had stiches that healed on their own. I can hardley see my incisions.  I will be post op three weeks Monday. I know they told me to drink my protien because it would help heal my stiches. Maybe you need to call your Dr. din't want any infections.
