Returning To Work After Surgery??

After having the gastric bypass, what was the earliest anyone returned to work?  I am talking about returning to a sit down job.

I know it depends on your doctor and your job duties. I have a job offer and am curious about when some of you were able to return to work, just to get a general idea.

I believe I went back after 4 weeks.... I wanted to go back after 2 though because I felt so good... but then again I dont have a sit down job... not sure if that helped you at all but hopefully it did lol Sarah

HI!!    I went back to work at 2 weeks and could have gone back after the first week probably but I really wanted to take the time to make sure everything was OK and it was and I work with pre-schoolers kind of but not always a sit down job! lol  but I was fine and I had a great recovery time and little to no pain...everything went very well for me..I did exactley what the Dr. said when I left the hospital and I did great! SO good luck!!!    Hope that helped!  DO remember everyone is different and , follow Dr.'s orders, dont over do it and walk walk walk!!   and you too should have a great recovery!! Cheryl

Hi! I went back to work in two weeks and did fine.  I have a set down job in a legal office.  I was just a tad bit tired when I would get home everyday from work for about a week. Kathy 265/180/152
