Newbie

Hello!  I am considering having the Lap Band surgery and was hoping to hear from some people about their experiences and if they would recommend the procedure.  Weight loss surgery is excluded from my insurance coverage so I will be borrowing money to cover the cost.  I am looking at Bluegrass Bariatrics In Georgetown - Dr. Oldham and Dr. Weiss.  Any information will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!  Dreama

Thanks a lot for the links and information. 

my only advice would be to choose a surgery with a high percentage of long term success.  I would also look into how much it costs to have fills done.  I am not sure but I think sometimes you have to have an xray to locate the port?  Maybe you should post on the different boards and ask everyone their advice, Lap, RNY and DS.

Dreama, I had lapband surgery at Georgetown last August and have had a wonderful experience.  My weight loss has been somewhat slow (compared to some others), but I love the band and have only praise for Weiss and Oldham and their staff.
