DENIED FOR THE 3RD TIME!!!

HELLO TO ALL!!   JUST WANTED TO LET EVERYONE KNOW THAT HAS HELPED ME WITH QUESTIONS AND GIVING ME HOPE THAT MY INSURANCE (BC) HAS DENIED ME FOR LAPBAND SURGERY FOR THE 3RD AND FINAL TIME.  THEY HAVE TOLD ME THAT THIS DECISION IS FINAL AND THEY WILL NOT RE-OPEN MY CASE.  MY HEART IS SO BROKEN.  I HAVE COME SO FAR IN MY LAPBAND JOURNEY SINCE MARCH AND THOUGHT THAT EVERYTHING WAS GOING GREAT, ESPEICALLY BEING PRE-APPROVED UP FRONT.  THEN ONCE I FINISHED EVERYTHING AND WAS NEXT TO SEE THE SURGEON TO SCHEDULE MY SURGERY, THEY DENY ME.  I APPEALED 3 TIMES AND WAS DENIED ALL TIMES.  I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY INSURANCE DOES NOT WANT TO HELP YOU KNOWING THAT IN THE LONG TERM THEY WILL BE PAYING OUT MORE MONEY TO HELP WITH OBESITY COMPLICATIONS.   I'M SO VERY HAPPY FOR EVERYONE THAT HAS BEEN APPROVED AND ARE ABLE TO HAVE THEIR LIFE CHANGING SURGERY TO BECOME HEALTHY AND HAPPY!   PLEASE SAY A PRAYER FOR ME THAT SOMEHOW SOMETHNG WILL CHANGE AND I TOO CAN HAVE THIS WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE.   GOD BLESS YOU ALL! Hang in there. Maybe this just means that there is something else in store for you. I know it is disheartening but keep your chin up.

Hi Kris, I'm so sorry insurance isn't going to cover the lap band.  I have BC/BS and they didn't cover lap band when I had surgery....but they have since started covering it.  I wanted gastric bypass anyway, so it wasn't a problem for me....but just wanted to let you know that insurance companies are constantly updating what they will and won't cover so they may cover it in the future. 

There may still be hope.... Please call Walter and Kelley Lindstrom and run it by them. Let them know that KATHERINE MOSES refferred you. Hello Kris, What is the reason for the denial?  And just because they say the internal appeals are over, that doesn't mean you are finished.  You should have the opportunity for an external appeal, and then you should be able to write the KY Insurance Board as well. Good luck!
