NO ALL WLS PATIENTS REQUIRE THIS HE SAID HE WOULD PREFER ME TO HAVE ONE.  IT ALSO SAID THERE IS SOME PEOPLE DOESN'T NEED ONE AND THEN HE SAID THERE IS SOME HE WILL NOT DO THE SURGERY UNLESS THEY HAVE ONE INSTALLED.  ITS REALLY DUE TO HOW HEAVY YOU ARE AT THE TIME YOU SEE HIM.

Hi Jarfly,  Don't worry about the filter, I got mine on a Tuesday and then had my BY-PASS on Thursday. I was at the hospital for a couple of hours for the filter, then went home, no real big pain.  Good luck on your up and coming surgery!       Leatha

Hi!  I just got home from my seminar and one-on-one with Dr. Shina.  He has said that I don't really need one, but I am to see the Cardio to determin what they say.  It is only because my family history has several people with blood clots in it.  I told him that if I need one, its fine with me.  I look at it like this.......it is just an added safety precaution for me.  Also, by the time I was back for my one-on-one, Holly had already recieved my approval fax in!  I was dancing by the time I walked out of the office!  I call and schedule in 2 weeks for the rest of the tests, and get my cardio and pulmo out of the way, and then I am ready.  I have already changed my profile to show a surgery date of Christmas Day, only because it is my gift to myself! I will change it once it is really officially scheduled. Hopefully your cardio consult goes well! I am sure it will! Keep me posted!
At Goal! 165 pounds gone forever! Thank you Lord!
