I am almost 4 yrs post op and have discovered that almost half of my new pouch is covered with an ulcer.  My doctor made it sound like this is common with by-pass patients.  Has anyone else had a problem with this or should I find a new doctor? Kathy   110 lost  and maintaining

Barb, Thank you for your response.  Good luck to you in your up coming surgery, it has given me back my life.  This problem is minor compared to how my life has changed.  The dr. has me on medication that helps but has some minor side effects. Take Care, Kathy

Hi Kathy,

I am 3 mnths out, and have had 3 strictures and an ulcer, so I think its pretty common. Good luck to you.

Kathy At 6 months I developed an ulcer. It is painful and if I forget to take my meds it is a constant reminder., I think I caused it by taking some over the counter meds that were not gel cap form. The medication I take is new, expensive and works. It is called Zegrid. Please dont feel alone. But know I share in your pain. util it was diagnose I weas taking loratabs every three hours for the pain. This medication is great and I can resume my life.  Good luck. Donna
