Feel like crap. Opinions?
Okay, so some of you may remember that in September I had a partial hysterectomy. They removed everything except my left ovary and cervix. Since Sept. I had been having trouble off and on with spotting and pain. On Friday, the 21st they went in and removed my remaining ovary and cervix. That evening I lost quite a bit of blood. Since this morning I have been running a low grade fever, and am also having pain next to my navel on my right side, down low. It feels almost like a stitch you would get after running a bit, and then develops into a severe cramp. This lasts from 10-30 minutes. My pain meds do NOTHING for the pain. I HAVE already spoke with the docs office and was told if pain persists as well as the fever to come to the ER. If this continues on til morning I plan on heading in. I have not been up doing anything, and do not think I have pulled pr strained anything. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas would be great!
Well, since the fever persisted I did go on to the E.R. Here's a word of advice. If you ever have a choice between going and jumping off a cliff, or going to the E.R. at Haggin Memorial in Harrodsburg...choose the cliff! I normally would have went to Danville but since my OBGYN done my surgery there in Harrodsburg I thought that is where I should go. It's always bad news when the E.R. Doc tells you to go to another hospital!
At anyrate, it seems I have a abcess near where my sutures are around where my cervix used to be. I had been taking Lortab and they did switch my pain meds to percocet. It is helping MUCH better. I was actaully able to sleep last night! They also gave me some antibiotics for the infection. Hopefully everything will be getting better soon!
