OT:Husband's surgery this morning....
Got to the hospital about 6am for Adam's vasectomy reversal, they took him back at 7:30am. The doctor had said that the surgery itself would most likely take 1 hour. Barring complications. Well, his surgery took almost 4 hours. He was in recovery 2. When he had his vasectomy 6 yrs ago the doc took out a large piece of the vas on one side. (the vas is the vein, artery that carrys the fishes to where they need to go) it had been cut, cauterized back then. He said that on one side Adam had good fluid and it reattached like it was supposed. the other side didn't have alot of room left to reattach but he did. It just took him longer and Adam is pretty sore on that side because of the extra digging. The doc said there's still fluid on that side and while it may not be as good as the other, its still there and working. He's doing better than I expected. The first time they got him up was rough on him. He's taped up and jock strapped. We were at the hospital all day. We got home around 5:00pm. Allison has been coughing her head off for the past 4 days. She's been sick and not getting any better at all. Mom came up last night and stayed with her today and I'd planned on taking her to the doctor this afternoon but we didn't make it from the hospital in time. I decided to take Allison to HMH's ER which sucks cause of the wait. We took mom home and drove back to town, the ER was packed so we went to the urgent care. Our neighbors Dan and Pat really helped us out tonight. Dan sat here with Pop and Adam to be here if Adam needed help. Ms Pat rode with me because she knew I was running on empty. I hadn't eaten at all and those of u know know and understand about gbs, know that isn't good. I took Allison to the Urgent Care place. The wait there was 2 hours until we saw a doc. Allison has a bad sinus infection and bronchitis. They gave her a antibotic shot and a prescription for antibotics. She's worn out from coughing. I think we're all worn out. Adam is in good spirits and says he feels ok except for his left lil boy. That side is pretty sore. He's supposed to stay off his feet for 48 hours, stay on ice packs off and on, and keep his "support" thingie on. I'm probably rambling on and babbling on. I haven't been this exhausted in a while. I'm going to copy and paste this to the vasectomy reversal messageboards and my gbs messageboards. Its going to family and friends as well. He has a post op appt next Thurs and I'm sure we'll find out more then. The doc did say that there was good fluid in that one side and some in the other. Not sure exactly what that means but right now my brain's too tired to function correctly. I just wanted to update everyone and say thanks to mom for coming and staying with Allison all day. Thanks to Dan & Pat for helping us out tonight. Dan babysat Adam and Ms Pat had to drive me home when I got too tired and shaky too do it. Thanks again for your prayers....
Hugs and Goodnight
