What vitamins do you take?
Post Date: 3/21/08 8:52 pm I promised to answer this Kit..sorry I haven't. I take Bariatric Advantage multi vitamin (chewable)one in the A.M. one in P.M. B12 injection one a month B1 (thiamin) injection once a week for a month then one a month vitamin D, prescription by mouth once a week. iron once a day. (bariatric advantage chewable) calcium once a day (bariatric advantage chewable) I personally don't like taking a large pill. And I seem to have a problem with absorbing it anyway. I had plastic surgery a year ago. Had complications and ended up on a wound vac. It obviously took something out of me, I never felt good after that. And started feeling worse. I have become good friends with a hematologist at the hospital who is working with my vitamins along with my PCP..And my urologist who watches me closely because of a kidney problem. what we are doing is treating my vitamin deficiency aggressively..the reason for the injections...I will continue forever taking b12 by injection. I prefer it instead of the sublingual...it's easier to remember and last amonth... the thing I didn't realize untl working with Dr. Jacques of Bariatric advantage, and Dr. Deva (hematologist) is that these dificiencies can affect so many things...and did...my digestive system...my depression was definately part of it..along with fatigue..energy..headaches, etc etc. As a bypass patient I realize I have a huge responsibility in keeping myself healthy...it is my responsibility not my doctor, not my family...this is about me.. I decided to be pro-active.. find out what was causing my symptoms and work hard at getting better...the depression was taking over my life and that needed to stop..Since I started working with it, the difference is unbelievable.... And get this....another thing with my belly problems besides the deficiency...we think that some of it could have been caused by lactose intolerance...yep, some vitamins actually have lactose...since I went back to Bariatric Advantage my belly problems have eased up....incredible, who woulda thunk it?..lol all I know is I feel very much like my old self and thank goodness. I couldn't live with me much longer the way I felt.. Have a great Easter Brenda
