Resizing photo

Help! I have been trying for weeks to resize a photo for my avatar. Can someone help me? I tried to do this on my own, but can not figure it out.. Thanks.

Hey there, Give this a try: I uploaded my picture here to shrink it:

Then copied that pic, saved it to my computer, then used that picture in my profile
(Go to my account, then click on profile color and photos).
