insurance inquiry

had my first visit with dr tanner friday--last night i got to thinking about the visit and realized i should have asked him a question regarding my insurance... i may try to call monday, but i am really curious and thought maybe someone here could help me. dr tanner had order written up to give to my primary dr to schedule stress/cardiac test-- i was just wandering if he [ or his staff ] wait to get the results back on that test before they start checking on insurance approval? i also work for the state and have humana-- i know it may take a while --just curious--i work a flex schedule at work and try to have dr  and/or other appts schedule on the day i am off, so it may take a while to get copy of the orders to my primary and to schedule test.... thanks for any info------------

My experience, I have Humana by being state employee, was that my surgeon's office did not send much of anything to Humana until all the tests were complete.  Be prepared to do a 6 month "supervised" weight loss program, which Humana requires, but then that was my experience and not necessarily will be yours.  Best of luck to you.  It took me almost a year from the day of first seminar to the actual surgery, but now that I have had the surgery, I couldn't be happier!  Hope all goes well for you!!!

started seeing my primary dr in february, 2008 on monthly visits. prior to that i was seeing her every 3 to 6 mos.. it was on her recommendation that i started w....w..chrs... ---of course i lost but i always gained it back.. i am now still near my heaviest.. i joined again to try to get some weight off piror to this surgery ( i won't save "if") but when surgery approved.  ..i enjoyed by trip to louisville to see the dr.. stayed overnight with my daughter in bardstown, ky and went to dr from there friday... drove home today.. wind light and breezy making it just right for traveling and looking at the beautiful green fields.. thanks for response jeannie  b.
