Turning My Packet in at Nortons then what?
I get to turn my packet in at Norton's on July 14th! WOOO HOOO! I am doing the 6 month weight management for Human and I can turn in the packet at the 4th month which is coming soon... So after I turn in my packet what happens then? Does anyone know? Anyone had to do it this way?

Do you have Humana as well? I am just wondering since I am turning it in on month 4 and I am required to have 6 months will they go ahead and approve me? Or do I still have to turn in my whole 6 months? I am just wondering because if they are going to start getting me ready but I am not approved yet how does that work?

Hi,
I won't be much help on the Humana questions but once you turn in your packet to the Bariatric group it is about 3 to 6 weeks for them to process the packet and make sure all the pieces they wanted you to submit are in there. If they want anything else they will send you a letter with the request. Once they feel your packet is complete they will call you for the psycho-social interview and nutritional evaluations (done on the same day). That is where they want the $300 dollar fee (at least I think that's how much it was) and it's not billable to insurance (boo!!!). Once that appointment is complete they usually take about a week to write up their report and recommendations and forward your packet to the surgeon's office. From that point you will receive a call from them for you first consult. Depending on the surgeon you have chosen you may have to wait a bit for the appointment as some of them have a longer waiting list than others. My surgeon had an initial $250 consult fee payable up front but my insurance paid so it was eventually reimbursed to me. LOL.....they denied the surgery though and I paid out of pocket.....go figure??
