So, did your general Dr. send you for your sleep study?  I go to see my Dr. about the 6 month diet on Tuesday,  I was planning on asking him about the sleep study then.  I was also wondering if anyone knows if the insurance will pay for the lap band if you do not have the qualifying years of morbid obesity.  My insurance requires that I have a BMI of at least 40, which I do now,  or 35 with at least 2 co-morbid conditions.  It also says that I must have a five-year history of Morbid obesity.  I have been severely obese for at least 10 years, but not morbid.  I do know that I have high cholesterol, and I am on medication for reflux .   I am really scared that the insurance won't pay because of not having 5 years of Morbid obesity.  Has anyone had the insurance pay without having the morbid obesity for as long as they have wanted you to?

I told my family doctor that I wanted everything checked before I had this surgery. I didn't want to have something happen and he agreed..  Have you made your decsion on where you are wanting to have this surgery at? What hospital?? What insurance do you have?? Good Luck!!

I have BC/BS of illinois.  I am going to go to a conference at St. Mary's, this is the group I would like to go with.  I'm just really worried about the insurance.  I go to see my family Dr. Tuesday, and I have a list a mile long to go over with him.  I hope he's set aside a lot of time for me..lol.
