Hi everyone!  I live in Lexington and am hoping to have Lap band surgery at Georgetown Community Hospital.  I am still in the beginning processes of filling out paperwork and dealing with insurance (YEAH??!! )  If anyone has had surgery at Georgetown Community Hospital, I would be really interested in your opinions concerning the surgeons.  I have prayed about this alot and God has answered my prayers with a big smack up side the head telling me to do this.  However, I am still a pharmacist and need to research everything...in this day and age it is the smart thing to do.

TIA!!

I've heard good things too.  My mom's boss got an RNY from there not too long ago and I was really impressed with their frankness at their informational session.  I wanted to sign up right then and there, but I am going to try and get insurance to pay for it first before I sell a kidney .

Hi, Dorathea. I had my band surgery at Georgetown in August 06, and I highly recommend the doctors and the hospital. I'll be glad to answer any questions you have, or you can click on my name and read my profile. My story (at the bottom of the profile) tells about my decision-making process and my experience with Georgetown.

WLS was the best decision I've ever made for myself, and I love my band. It's a wonderful tool to help me make good choices about my eating.

I'm excited for you!

Kathy

Hi! and welcome!

I owed it to myself to research the duodenal switch before consenting to any other weight loss surgery and so do you.  Check out DSFacts.com and DuodenalSwitch.com for more information.  Remember think twice, cut once, revisions are risky and revision surgeons are rare.

Hi and welcome to the board (from a big lurker LOL)

I live in the northern part of the state (Florence) so I'm not familiar with the area or hospital.

But good luck and keep at it.
