The recovery is better than the waiting
Hi all,
Just a little update from Western Ky. It has been 8 days since my surgery and the recovery is definitely better than the waiting. I had a little problem with swelling at band causing me not to drink as much as I should therefore getting a little dehydrated. But the swelling is down and I am trying protein drinks with all kinds of additives to keep from getting bored. I'm down 12 lbs since surgery , but know that will be slowing down real soon. My gas is finally gone, but I think the gas in my chest area was worse that shoulder pain. Port is still a little sore , but life is good! It sounds like a wonderful support group at Norton's downtown, hope to make it before it starts getting dark too early. Sure wish there was on one on Sat. Thank you all so much for just posting your experiences. When you are just beginning your journey, you are like a sponge for any and all info you can gather

Hi Lady!!! So glad that u'r recovery is going well. we do have fun downtown, and learn alot..
we have also started trying to get together once a month outside of the forums because people cant make to the groups thru the week and at Suburban's meeting there isn't any room for asking alot of questions. So maybe you can join us for the next one of those, THe first one we had a great turnout but the second one we all kinda fell apart.. SO the third one we need to work on.. Congrats on the 12 pound loss!!!

Glad to hear you are doing so good! Keep up the positive thinking...that is the best thing you can do. I love the meetings downtown and always enjoy catching up on everyone's progress. And apparently it produces good things as well! Sandi got her call the next day regarding her surgery date! I dropped 2 more pounds after stalling a month. And got a whole new wardrobe to look forward to wearing thanks to Dawn! Got one of the shirts on today by the way! I do hope the next get together goes better than the last.....
