Honestly.  I don't like any of them.
Keep them all for after surgery because your tastes may change post-op anyway.
I guess the best tasting was the Chocolate Whey Protein Powder from Wal-mart mixed with milk and served over ice!  I tricked myself into thinking I was drinking chocolate milk.
You may also check out www.revivalsoy.com  If you call them, they will send you 4 free samples of protein shakes or protein bars!

Best of luck.

I'm with Leslie,  I can't say there's a single one of them that I really enjoy

That being said there are a couple that I can tolerate!

The unjury vanilla powder is fairly good when mixed with flat diet root beer or flat diet orange soda.  Makes it taste like a float!  I also can drink the premixed bottles of EAS Myoplex chocolate that I get at Sam's Club.  That one has 42 grams of protein so one a day pretty much does it for you assuming you can get the other 20 grams from your other foods/fluids during that initial post-op phase.

Now that i'm on solids regularly, if I'm looking for a protein drink I'll add a packet of sugar free Carnation Instant Breakfast powder to 8 ounces of milk for 13 grams of protein.  That is VERY yummy heated up, just like cocoa!

You're doing your homework which is VERY smart!!  You'll be a great bandster!

I also do not like the protein drinks. I have been usuing the carnation instant breakfast stuff and can semi tolerate it in my milk. It was better than nothing. I went out and got some unflavored protein powder after the meeting that night and I now add it to my sf pudding cups, soup, etc....not alot of it, but enough to bump up the protein content of some things. I am still a protein bar person....either as a meal replacement or split one as a snack.  I was so glad as well when the nutritionist stated that they were ok to use! Where can you order samples from?

the one I probably like the most is from sams club,  EAS 100% whey protein 23grams of protein, plus you add milk to it for about 4 more gram, it is like 27 grams at once, and I like the chocolate better than the vanilla.  it is smooth and easy to mix, thicker than chocolate milk and is kinda like a melting milkshake.  I use frozen mugs or cups to get it really cold.

   hope this helps!!

I ordered a few samples from Unjury.com. They aren't free, maybe I should say Single servings. I didn't want to order a WHOLE box or can incase I didn't like them.. I've also gotten a couple boxes of the Slim Fast Low carb ones.....
Thanks for all your inputs!!!

I agree with several others about EAS drinks. They are pretty good and pretty high in protein. Yesterday was my last day of full liquids and by  the second week I wanted something less sweet. Here are some of the things I did to make them yummy.
Can of chili beans purreed with water ,heat and let one spoon of FF sour cream melt in it
Potato soups with water and teas. of bacon.
FF refried beans 1/2 salsa with water and FF sour cream
homemade gumbo watered down and purreed

Just make sure they are thin and all chunks are strained. This helped me so much and my loss has been ok too. I start mushies today as soon as I get back from my first bike ride since surgery.
Good luck, so excited for you, I'm so thrilled to be losing in spite of being very hungry right now. Bring on the fills.

I use WalMart's whey protein in choc and vanilla when I was doing them.. I use the vanilla everydayin hot choclate that I call a prochino..
Use Swiss Miss sugar free hot cocoa. 1percent milk, and a scoop of the vanilla protein.. Put the swiss miss, and vanilla protein powder in a cup and add some cold milk to mix it all up with, then after its mixed up add the warm milk so that the protein powder doesnt crystalize at the heat.. Its good especially in the winter time.
Im  not a good high protein food person. I cant stand the smell of tuna and no idea how to make egg salad so I still do the protein drink in the am.. U could use coffee too instead of the cocoa..
Good luck!!! you getting excited? Will hubby post and let us know u are ok?

  one way i get my protein   ;
one scoop whey protein powder 100% natural , vanilla flavor(purchased from kroger) 23 g. protein
16 oz skim milk  16-18g protein
add just little sugar free/fat free butterscotch or (chocolate) pudding mix, i really like the butterscotch
 add 2 pks splenda--
stir or shake up,,, or blend....
actually tastes good ......total of 39-42 g protein....
(i have added coffee to the chocolate protein drink when i made it to get some caffeine in---i got the idea for this from becka's accountability posting)
---like annie , i have tried some different things..
you may have to just try few and see which ones you like the most..
good luck
