I see Dr. Schuster, who is partners with Dr. Lusco & Dr. Olsofka. They are a really good group. Unfortunately, they only accept Anthem insurance. Luckily for me, I have Anthem insurance. Other than Anthem patients, I think their patients are mostly self pay patients who won't be getting any insurance reimbursement.
They are really good doctors with good bedside manner and good track records, though. If the cost is not the main concern, they are really good. They don't have a lot of representation on these boards, but they must be seeing a lot of patients, because I've been to all 3 of their offices, and they really do stay busy. The staff at St. Marys was incredible, too. They really did have supportive people in every single department that I encountered during my pre-op and surgery day visits.
Best wishes whichever doctor you choose!

I want to put in a plug for Dr. Geller. He is the medical director at the other Norton Hospital at Suburban. He takes all types of insurance except for Medicaid. He does take Medicare. He accepts what the insurance pay as payment in full. You can ask for him by calling the main Norton number.
As far as Dr. Olsofka -- he used to be in network with all of the insurances and went off network a few years ago when they got busier. It is because they keep much more money when you give them $4000 than they get from insurance. I saw someone above say the reimbursement is $1900. Actually, I think the reimbursement for the band itself is between $900 and $1200 depending on the insurnace. (I have a friend that does medical billing) When you pay a surgeon more than that, usually they are giving you the adjustments for some time because you don't have insurance cooverage. In Dr. Olsofka's case, you still need insurance coverage because that pays the hospitals part of the charges. I have heard they are good doctors (Olsofka and Lusko) but just GREEDY!

I am a patient of Dr Olsofka's. I also met Dr Lusco when I attended my seminar in August. They are both very nice and knowledgeable. I have heard very good things about the whole program. They are in network with Anthem so anyone who has anthem only has their specialist copay. Any other insurance pays the $4000 up front. I am a self pay. My insurance had an exclusion and they had a decent program for self pays so I'm scheduled 9/17. I noticed you're from Owensboro. I'm just across the bridge in Indiana.
