surgery over and doing well
Well made it through surgery and I'm back home. It really wasn't bad, today has probably been the worst and that is because of gas. Sent my son-in-law out for gas-x and its helping. I'm just tired now. The nurses at st luke were awesome and dr smith did a wonderful job, scarring is going to be minimal. I'm not hungry, and i'm having to force myself to do the diet he gave me. Did anyone take milk of magnesia to help getting their bowels to start working again? Any info on this will be helpful.

Glad your home and doing so well! The first couple days you probably won't be that hungry.. What diet does your surgeon require? Mine is liquids for 2 weeks.
I did not get any recommendation for Milk of Magnesia.. but I've also had diarrhea since the morning after surgery..They said it could be from the barium drink I had to take for the xray or the anitbiotics.... So No issues there..LOL.
Make sure you rest plenty... I'm now 5 days out from surgery and still get tired pretty quick and have some gas pains sometimes too...
