Feeling low

I am not sure what is with me lately, I am feeling very blue.  Hormones maybe? I have been reading the boards about what to eat when, drinking and exercise.  I try to eat well, walk at least 3 to 4 times a week.  I am not sure why I suddenly feel this way, there isn't a thing new in my life.  Maybe that is the problem!!

What have you done to snap you out of the down feeling?  any suggestions?

your avatar says nothing about surgery - but even if you haven't had surgery you would probably be wise to make sure you are getting the right vitamins in every day.  Supplementation can really make a difference in your mental health and well being.  Protein is another thing that can make you feel tired and depressed, make sure you are getting enough.  Just an idea, hope it helps and that you feel better quickly!
I owed it to myself to research the duodenal switch before consenting to any other weight loss surgery and so do you.  Check out DSFacts.com and DuodenalSwitch.com for more information.  Remember think twice, cut once, revisions are risky and revision surgeons are rare.

Hi Vicki..if you click on her name it will take you to her profile giving more info about the surgery...I know she works evenings a lot.  So she doesn't always respond quickly.  She tries to convince me she actually works ....I think she just clocks in and sleeps..lol

Hello,

I've been told that as we lose weight rapidly our hormones do go awry!  I've read where hormones are stored in fat cells and as we lose the weight we release extra amounts of hormones as well.  Kinda like PMS without the TOM!!

Is it time to get your meds adjusted??  Maybe you're simply on too much of something!

Think maybe it's B12?

Have you checked in with your doctor's office about it yet?  I'm sure it's a common thing and they will be able to suggest options and/or get you in for an appointment to make sure everything's OK fairly quick!

Good luck!

Lovekitten.  sorry to hear you're feeling blue.  I went through that recently and kicked up the exercise a notch and watched my protein intake more closely.  Also, are you getting enough rest?  That, too, is important.  Hope you are feeling more "in the pink" very soon!!!

Hey Kit, you have some great advice given here.......you know I am the first to tell you that our mind and bodies know something needs to be addresses as we fly through the weight loss.  It's what about 10 months for you and if I remember correctly you have lost well over 100 lbs.
These folks are right on, many things can send you emotionally in a spiral.  Think about if you seem tired, irritable, nauseated..headaches.. body aches..depressed..change in skin condition like dryness..complexion changes..hair falling out..etc.(though these things don't always occur and not all of them at the same time..but could be signs of vitamin deficiencies), could be the meds you are own.  Dr. Tom is available to his patients and will be more than happy to answer those questions.  He will probably suggest you call the front desk to make an appt.  To save you some time why don't you do just that?!?!?!
I take B12 shots, Thiamin..Vit D. by prescription ..then my regular vitamins....drink TONS of water..
I have been through the gauntlet as you well know, Dr. Tom and my PCP checked my blood work last week and for the first time since my disaster with platic surgery, my vitamin levels are finally normal!!...so don't delay, take it serious...stay in touch with your mind and body...they give is the signs loud and clear, we just have to pay attention to them..
If there is anything I can do just let me know.
