Go****hink the right answer is YMMV (your mileage may vary). Some sizes I stayed in for months, others like only two weeks.  I probably dropped more in the beginning but still clung to my familiar black stretch pants. it's all good -- keep it up! N

Holli, I think alot of it depends on how tall you are, and where you lose the eight first, for me, I lost my boobs first.  but my rny was almost 7 months ago, and I remember one of my goals was to get into my size 20 levi strauss jeans, well they arel ike way to big for me now,  I was a very tight 26 jeans, I am 5 foot 1inch.  and now I am in 14's mainly and like large tops. so you can see you will be dropping sizes pretty quick.
I have been about the same for a month now, and I feel like I am not losing anymore, actually I have gained 2 pounds this week, may be where it is the regular  time to have my period, I had a procedure and don't have them anymore, so when you do have surgery, expect to lose a pound and gain a pound or 2 all in the same week, just don't get frustrated, if it don't come off quick as you want it to. and you really got to star****ching what you eat at 6 months out, cause I can probably eat anything right now. and really that is a bummer.

I'm with you!  I could eat any "bad" thing now!  But, I still dump on too many sugars and carbs!  But I can eat it.
As a general rule, the average would probably be about a size a month.   I am 6 months out and down 6 sizes (20/22 to 8/10).

that's a hard question to answer - I went from a size 22/24 to a size 14/16 in three months, during the last month and a half I have slowed down and am in more of a regular Misses size 14 rather than the very generous Lane Bryant size 14, kwim?
I owed it to myself to research the duodenal switch before consenting to any other weight loss surgery and so do you.  Check out DSFacts.com and DuodenalSwitch.com for more information.  Remember think twice, cut once, revisions are risky and revision surgeons are rare.

I was wondering this too!  I'm 5'4" tall and wearing a size 24 in Jeans (290 pounds).  I was reading some posts and noticed alot of peeps that are still weighing close to 200 pounds and some a little above being in a size 14.???  I was in a size 14 about 20 years ago, lol... and at the time weighed 155-160 pounds????  Has sizes changed that much, or just the way I'm shape?  I know that now I can get down to almost 250 before I'm in the next size of 22's, but once I get down lower will the pounds be less to get to the next size???  My surgery Is September 29th, and I have a wedding to attend in December that I need to shop for.  A little alternations I can do, but I would like to hit close to the size I should be in.  Thanks for any input.

I KNOW sizes have changed in the past 20 years.....the fashion world refers to it as "vanity sizing"!!!!   Women don't like to buy bigger sizes so designers have changed their patttern and made the sizes larger.
I am wearing mostly 8's and weigh 161.  20 years ago, I wore size 10's at 130 lbs.
I recommend waiting about a month before the wedding to buy the dress if possible!  If you must order, I'd go at least 2 sizes smaller than you are now....maybe 3!  Have fun at the wedding!

Hi
I agree with everone I am 5 foot 2 inches and was in a 26/28 and 5x shirts I am 6 months out and could probably eat anything I fight daily but I am winning. I was on a stall for a month and low and behold dropped 8 pounds this week. I am in a 14 /16 depending on the maker and I buy my clothes at walmart. I still find myself in the plus size section looking for clothes but they dont fit anymore. Good luck to you this is a wonderful site and helped sooo much. Oh i wear a xl shirt.
I would do it all over again of course the first 2 weeks after surgery I kept asking myself why why why did I do this but it gets better. When the pounds roll off its wonderful and the attention aint to shabby either. I was laid off for  4 months and when I went back some people didnt know who I was. LOL ! So as for dropping sizes I was told every 20  pounds new size. Of course when we wear our clothes very tight and streych pants it did take me a little longer to get into the 24 ect my clothes got to fit just right after about 20 lbs. Good luck we will save a seat here at the losers bench its wonderful, Donna

I started out where you are....a tight 28.  I had my surgery in December, and now I am wearing 10's and some 9 juniors!  I guess  I dropped a size every few weeks right out from surgery.  Maybe at 5 or 6 months out, I slowed down to where I would loose a size every month.  That is where I am now.....just a size a month.  Now I am to where it is my actual hip bones that is not allowing me to drop any more sizes!  Talk about a difference a year makes!  Good luck!
At Goal! 165 pounds gone forever! Thank you Lord!
