I sure do....I headed straight to the school and got my kids and held them for hours. I almost lost my job because my boss did not think it was that severe of a situation. ...After he found out what had happened he apologized for it. We were living in Florida at the time...not far from where president Bush was visiting another elementary school. Too close to home for me.  Remember those who fight for us, died for us, sacrificed for us........and their families.  They are the reason we have the freedom we do................

Seven years ago today, our middle son turned 23 years old.  That evening, he & his wife, DH and I went out to dinner.  The restaurant was not very busy.  The mood was very subdued.  People wanted to celebrate special occasions but there was this cloud that hung over us from the events at the WTC and near the Pentagon that morning.  I was at school that day, and was told by another teacher about the what was happening.  Because thie fellow was a jokester, I thought at first that it was a sick joke.  But we turned on the tv in our rooms and  watched with horror as events unfolded.  I am so thankful for the freedoms and blessings we have in this country.  Some are so envious that they want to destroy us, but onward we go.  It's when we cease to remember those who have laid down their lives for our nation that we will fall prey to falling from within.  God bless America!  (Happy 30th birthday my dear David-we'll celebrate Saturday!)

Seven years ago today (it was a Tuesday) I arrived at work at about 9:00 and was told about the first tower being hit.  By time they scrounged up a TV for everyone to watch we saw the second tower get hit.  One of my co-worker's has a son who worked in the Pentagon at the time in the area of the strike.  Luckily, he was in another part of the building.  But Sina had to wait what felt like hours for her DIL to call her and tell her that her son was fine.  That was also 4 days prior to mine and Richard's wedding day.  Needless to say, all planning ceased while we absorbed what was going on.  We considered canceling the wedding and simply going to the justice of the peace as celebrating anything festive at that time simply seemed wrong.  In the end, we did get married that Friday evening as planned although several guests were not able to come since domestic flight were still grounded.  We drove to Destin that night for a week long honeymoon.  we ended up taking about half a three tier cake with us!  We spent that week watching CNN, eating cake and praying they would find more people alive in the rubble.

I was geting my mother ready to take her to the doctors.  I could not believe it.  My children were all in school.  I left them there so they could learn more from the teachers than from me.  My mistake, my daughter's teacher felt it was not of importance and turned the tv off.  I know that our 1st responders are under appriciated.  Our solders are in the wrong country frighting the wrong war.  I feel the next president will not take national security as lightly as the current president before 9/11.  Enough political talk.  I pray for my future son in law who is a Marine.  I thank my husband for his service to the country and am thankful my sons don't plan to inlist.  When I got married we were stationed at Ft. Riley, Kansa so I know how our solders are treated and underpaid.  I also, know from my father's treatment after WWII that disabled soldiers are treated poorly.  I am now stepping down off my soap box before I fall off...or get pushed off.

I was at work and the security guards called down and told us to get a tv on quickly.  That a plane had flown into the World Trade Center.  When we got the tv on, they were still not sure if it was an accident or not.  Then we watched the second plane fly into the other building.  I put my head on my desk and cried.  That night we met at church and hugged and cried and prayed.  I will never forget that day.  We kept the tv at work in the middle of the office for over a week.  I am so thankful that we have heroes who helped save others that day, who died saving others that day and who fight for our freedom everyday

I was at work at a Super-Max prison in the state of VA.
It was shocking and tense and emotional.
Sat in "meetings" that morning in the Warden's office and watched the news as we received updates.
While worried about my best friend (who lived in MD at the time) and mostly her mother that works at the US Embassy in DC.............had to deal with work issues.
Inmates yelling at staff, making rude and offensive comments as they were VERY anti-govt.....................a very very very stressful day  to say the least.
One I will NEVER FORGET.

I remember that day very clearly, my dad was in and out of the hospital alot that year, and when we walked into his room early that morning, he started telling us about it, and we started watching the news, and seen the second plane hit, I just wanted to cry, knowing all those people lost their lives, and seeing people jump from windows was a horrid picture, I will never forget!!
I praise the men and women fighting for our country so we can sleep at night in peace!!! My x-husband was in the navy and it wasn't an easy job. I am glad that my two sons decided not to enlist. I have a neighbor boy, very close to our family who joined the army in July, I just hope and pray he doesn't have to go to Iraq!
   God bless you all!!
