I haven't been here ina  couple of months, and I have been anxious to share whats been happening.
I had by pass March 1 2008. I was really sick fro several months, and couldn't even try to eat for 3 weeks. But I got better. A few months ago my hair started falling out, big hugh gobs. But I stopped and I still have hair. Dr. Allen said it comes back, and I've met people whose hair came back. My first big wow was when I took my husband to the hospital 3 months after surgery and my hips didn't get stuck in the chair arms, I just about cried. All my pre surgery clothes fall off me, I bought a few things and pinned some others. Now I'm pinning some of the new clothes too.  I was 441 lbs on the day of surgery, I'm 315 now, I lose from 10 to 20 pounds a month(I was so sick the first 3 weeks of not eating I lost 40 pounds). I'm almost in a 3x, some fit, most don't. But I was 5x before surgery.
I can't believe the differences I've seen in myself. Oh my gosh, my feet are skinny, my legs, which were never really big, are skinny,  those fat bulges on my sides at my back are disappearing, they don't poke through my clothes anymore. All the different movements I can do now amaze me. I can walk!!  I can keep the house clean! I can sit comfortably, even move around in my favorite chair, throw my leg over the arm. I haven't been comfortable in years.
And I can eat shrimp!!!! I know a lot of people can't, but I ate 3 shrimp and I was fine.
Still trying to learn to eat slow, sometimes I mess up on it. I no longer desire to eat hugh amounts of food, I don't feel the need to eat 3 days worth of food in one day.
I'm still fat, got about 100 lbs to go to reach Dr. Allen's goal weight for me, but I feel wonderful. i don't feel like I'm in the way, I take up too much room in a crowd and it's all my fault if it's a tight squeeze for someone, I don't have to apologize to people for taking up extra space, and being in their way. I may still be fat right now, but I don't feel like a circus side show, I feel normal. I can't tell you the last time I felt normal. Now I'm normal! I feel even though I'm still fat, I am what I would consider a normal looking size for fat. Not a beached whale I felt like before.
I am normal. And thats the greatest thing.
