I am little concerned but not sure if i really need to be...i had my first fill sept. 5th ... 3cc in 10cc band...I can still eat and/or drink without filling restriction--i don't go bac****il 10/17/08...little bit afraid i will eat more than i should  [I am big time stress eater, just knowing this, i have tried to stay away from sweets and snacks...] ----Is it usual to have no feeling of restriction the first and/or second time after a fill?
maybe i am making "mountain" out of "molehill".
How many cc's , 1/3 or 1/2 in band, before you start filling restriction?

You will probably hear this a million times but here it goes again.  Everyone is different.  The band is something you have to work with.  It may take 6 fills before you feel real restriction or you may have to always work hard with your band.  You are not making a mountain out of a mole hill.  Most of us have asked this question.  You have chosen to recognize your weakness and work at staying away from them.  It can only help you to grow stronger.   I did not have feelings of restriction for a while.  I still have to watch myself.  Take care, restriction will come.

Don't get to stressed about it ....my husband was banded and it wasn't until the 2nd fill that he felt any restriction at all.   it was a big fill so it might take a couple of fills for you.  Remember that's what it's all about...filling your band slowly and finding what's the best place for each individual..

Hang in there you will find your place...the band is awesome..Mike has now lost somewhere around 45 lbs since June 16th....he is whining he hasn't a thing that fits him...ahhhh isn't that a great feeling?

It was 9 months and 6 fills before I felt TRUE restriction.  Every once in a while you hear of people that get it with no fill or just one fill (lucky dogs ).

Right now, and possbily for the first few months, YOU will be doing more of the work than your band will.  Slowly though the tables will turn and your band will begin to work for you more and more!  It seems like each time I had a fill things got a little better.  I was satisfied longer and ate less at each meal and lost some weight to boot!

The band is intended to be a slower paced journey and I will be the first to conceed that I get frustrated sometimes wanting things faster than they are.  My best suggestion would be to find a replacement behavior for the stress eating (hint: exercise or maybe knitting) that is healthy, so no smoking, that is unless you already do!  Counseling is always an option if you would like to address food issues in that manner.  IMO that's the BEST way to do it if you feel your food demons are overly strong!

Hang out here with us and/or over on the band board.  We'll try talking you off the ledge when things get rough as they do for all of us!

I am now 4cc in a 14 band and only slight restriction..or at least it feels like restriction. My portions are down and I feel hungry less often. Yeah!!! Just find things to occupy yourself with! If you don't have anything...come on up to my house! I have plenty...lol I am going to repaint my kitchen and rewallpaper the border. I have quilts to get made for a festival in December, a festival this weekend that I still need to prep for, one in October as well. I have 2 loads of laundry a day, a full time job, lol...see what I mean. It keeps me busy and moving! Unfortunately I sometime do not eat right or enough so I have to be better about that as well. you can do this! You just have to find your groove is all! We are here for ya!

Hey Kiddo

I'm so sorry you aren't feeling restriction yet. Would Dr Tanner move your next fill up a little? I have found I'm pretty much eating a lower fat Adkins style diet to keep me from snacking . I hate it , but it helps and I'm still losing tiny amounts. When I was using protein shakes, protein cereals and bars I was hungry all of the time. Now I roll up ham and cheese with mustard wrapped in lettuce. Cottage cheese helps too. I eat untill I feel full, not counting any calories or grams or anything. My favorite night time treat if hungry is fat free ricotta, peanut butter and splenda mixed together with sugar free cool whip. Try to keep the portion at 1/2 cup total or it will be too fattening. It will stay with you though. Good luck!! I did see doc before vacation and she gave me an antibiotic that has really helped my incisions.
