A woman called me Thrusday afternoon and told me she was calling me in regards to my interest in lap band surgery. Then she went on to varify my address and told me she would be sending me some info on the doctor. I asked which doctor. She said Dr. so and so (can't remember, but KNOW it wasn't one I had heard). Then I asked where is he located, Vanderbilt? (since I live near TN and Vandy was one of my choices) She said, no MEXICO!!!!!! What the hell is going on? Do this site sell phone numbers / addresses? Has this happened to someone else?

Hmmm...has not happened to me ...not yet anyway. I do not give out any info to anyone over the phone. Period. I tell them they have all my info and if they don't then they don't need it! Yes...its rude, but thats how identity theft starts. I have not had any problem with this site. Sorry you got put in that spot. It is weird to get a call like that I am sure. Anyone else got one?

I don't give out personal info over the phone either unless I KNOW for a fact it is legit. This is the only weight loss site I have signed up with and under "general into",I gave my address and phone. This is the only way I know of that my info got out there. How else would they have know I was interested in weight loss surgery?!?!? Not happy about it at all! Infact, Im pretty angry.

I don't know then. Maybe you could call them back and ask them where they got the info? I would be p.o.'d too!
Hi Linda,
Did you just recently block your profile? If so, that's a good measure!
If it was previously unlocked does it have any specific info on it like last name and city that you live in? There are, for lack of a better word, HEADHUNTERS on here that will troll around looking for info such as first name, last name, city & state. They then plug that info into a site like peoplefinder.com or intellius.com and then they have your home phone number as well if it's a listed number! I'm betting they get a price per head and even more if it pans out to be a paying customer!
Go back into you account and delete your phone number, address and last name. If you think you need to delete the city as well do that and simply plug in the state or nearest city.
That should stop the bulk of it.
I'm having issues with tons of WLS product emails that use the name BECKA which in reality isn't one I use ANYWHERE else but here so I know where it's originating.

Yes, I went back today and blocked it. I erased my address and phone also. I'll go back and erase my last name too. I did call the number back and they did tell me they got my info from OH. So everyone BEWARE!!!! And yes, they are in Mexico! I am so pissed!
