Surgery timeline

I am currently seeing Dr. Shina in Louisville, and I have been since April 08.  I went to his seminar in his office, then scheduled my nutrition/pscyh evaluations at Norton ($300.00 fee that insurance didn't cover).  Likewise, I went and had bloodwork done.  I went a few weeks ago to my heart and lung doctor for the clearances on that.  The lung doctor had me to do a sleep apnea test, which I'm just waiting on the results to be read on that.  Once the lung doctor clears me, then they will submit everything to my insurance, which is KY Medicaid.  The approval takes about 10-15 business days for medicaid is what I am told by Dr. Shina's office.  I also had to do the 6 months supervised weight loss during this time. 

Seems like you're almost there, except for submitting to your insurance.  Good Luck and hopefully we'll both be having our surgery soon.

Thanks a bunch, I do feel like I am almost there although I was supposed to hear from my insurance rep from Dr. Shina's office (never really did) About the 6 month weight loss monitoring. Lets hope that they say enough of my medical records with weight and complaints of weight and the rest of the medical, maybe they just do not need it.  I have done my hemetology appt and gotten that clearance. Now done my Cardio ( have to do stress test next week), should get the clearance for that on monday!?? And follow up with pulm on 5 Nov. did not need a sleep apnea test done as I am already on CPAP. They just wanted a read out of my card, which they did not tell me when I made the appt. (or I would have taken it to the 1st appt). This could have possibly gotten me back sooner, but Oh well lets hope all is good and I hear from Dr. Shina's office shortly after that appt.

 I hope that everything comes back for you and you too get word as to when you will have your surgery soon. It is nice to hear of someone else that is using the same Dr. Maybe when it is all said and done we will attend support meetings together and not even know it!!
