Lake Cumberland Hospital & Dr. Husted

I am looking into the Lap-Band.  I am really excited about the whole process. i xan't wait to meet him. I have talked to carol his recepionist she is a very sweet person.

so iam Hoping that is will be done on an out patient .
I had a breast reduction done about 4 years ago and it was done as an out patient.
Buy the way for any woman wandering about having that done. Let me just say that it was the best thing I have ever done. Besides having my 4 kids.
Would do it again in a heart beat.\

I live approx 35 mi south of somerset... my primary dr is in somerset..... there are several hotels there now... rates may be cheaper when "somernites" not taking place.. just shop around...when contacting them, you might ask if any of them takes referrals or gives discounted rates to those with friends/families in hospital.. wouldn't hurt to ask...there have been improvements with lake cumberland regional ... the only thing i really have problems with is that the last time i was there with a family member --. the staff would like a family member to stay during the night.. but the chairs "were not one size fits all".. straight back chair with side arms ... very uncomfortable..no way could i stay all night..when my grandmother was in the room by herself, i sat on the other bed just to be able to sit comfortably  in the room with her....hopefully they have or will upgrade in this area....

 I have spoken to a few of the hospital administrators and they assured me that a family member would be comfortably accommodated if they choose to stay with one of our patients.
Also, just today I have spoken to a few more hotels in the area that are willing to give our patients special pricing.

I was Dr. Husted first patient when he moved to San Francisco.  I started out with him in Nashvillle and then he moved to San Francisco.  I traveled from Owensboro, Kentucky for my surgery and I can truly tell you that I would go around the world for him to perform the DS.   He is a brillant surgeon and a very caring doctor.  He always takes time to answer all your questions and you can really tell that he cares about all of his patients.

I know nothing about the hospital in Somerset but if Dr. Husted is operating out of it - it has to be good.
