Am I doing this right?

Ok I am 3 weeks out now and I have been a little bad. But bad in a good way. (if that makes since) I have been eating a few fat free crackers and a few low fat chips only a few at a time. I am getting all reduced fat/fat free food. I know these may not be the best choices but at least I am not going out for fried food right? Or eating junk food. I just feel like I am hungry a lot. Like I said I am eating this stuff but very little of it. So is it just my body adjusting to not getting as much food? I am ignoring the hunger and only eating my 3 small meals a day. I know I do not have any real restriction yet. I get my first fill on 10/31. But am I doing things or not? I am not sure I feel like maybe I am doing something wrong or going about all this the wrong way.

Princess, congratulations on your weight loss so far.  Hang in there till the 31st.  That's when some restriction will be obvious for you.  Until then, you just have to watch those choices.  For me, when I'm trying to eat the right thing, I look 1st at the protein, then the carbs, the fiber and the calories, in that order.  That usually helps me stay pretty close to on track (except for the occasional roll).  Two of my mainstays almost since the beginning have been sf fudgesicles and sf pudding.  Those help curb the hunger.  Remember, too, fat free is not always the best choice- check all those ingredients.  If it looks like I'm trying to sound like an expert,  , I certainly am not.  Just sharing what has worked for me.  You'll get the hang of this.  I'm just over 5 months out and still learning.  Keep going forward!!!

Keep on keeping on!

I also recommend looking at "Real Hunger" vs. "Head Hunger".  Give yourself 15 minutes before giving in to any cravings or eating anything.  During that 15 minutes, find something to do - read a magazine, go outside, call someone. etc.   If you still feel hungry, then eat something allowed.

It is tough but you can do it!!!!!

I'm an RNYer so really can't help with the specific lab band restriction feelings.

Good Luck.
