I know what you mean. I still find myself browsing in Lane Bryant and the plus size sections of other stores at times. Then when I realize (after I try things on), that nothing fits, I move on.
I think I do it out of habit. Actually haven't done that for about a month now.
Just go out and go into stores you normally would never shop in and start trying things on! You may be surprised at what your new style will be!!!!
