Passing Blood After Surgery

As most of you know, my best friend has RNY on the 8th in Baltimore.   I called her a few minutes ago - she was in the bathroom so I talked to her mother who told me that she is passing blood in her bowel movements.

I know I didn't do this.   Did anyone else experience this?  What caused it?  How long did it last?

I am kind of worried about her now.

I hope she is ok. Do you know if she is going to go to the ER or anything?

She is still in the hospital.   She just had surgery Thursday evening.  Not even been discharged yet.

I am going to call her back later.

I want us to try and get a table with chairs to sit at. I still have a hard time sitting in booths.

I figured we would need a table - thinking there will probably be 6-7 adults.   So we'll get a table for 8 just in case.

Going to run and clean another closet out!

My doctor told me that it is normal for some blood to pass in your BM's for the first couple of times.  Hopefully that is all she is doing.

She is having some lab work done.  Hopefully all will turn out ok.  Hopefully it is normal and she will be fine in a day or 2.
Her spirits are up and she sounds good!

is it bright blood, ro dark, if it is bright, it could just be something as simple as hemmroids, mine was worse after surgery, if it is dark blood though, it may be something else entirely.

 Dark blood like coffee grounds is a big concern.  Tell her not to let any Doc bru**** off.  They did that to my cousin after she gave birth..."it's just hemeriods", Nope, it was colon cancer.  I know the cofffee ground looking stuff is serious .  I'll say a prayer. Amy
