SOOOO WORRIED

I just got off the phone with Iman - my best friend that had RNY Thursday evening.  She is still in the hospital and passing blood through her bowels.

They have given her 3 units of plasma and they have 2 more units on standby "just in case".   Not really sure what is causing it - perhaps an ulcer aggravated by surgery.
I feel soooo guilty as I encouraged her as she made the decision to have wls.
I cry to think that I could lose my best friend.

Please remember her in your thoughts and prayers.

Plasma is the clear part of our blood that contains the factors that make you clot; does not contain the red oxygen carrying cells....blood is ALL parts of the blood including the red oxygen carrying cells

Leslie,
I am praying for your friend....try NOT to feel guilty.  You recommended/encouraged her to do the RNY because you love her & were concerned for her health.  I pray that she will recover & do well with her decision to have WLS. Hang in there! Pat B.

Leslie I will be praying for your friend, but don't you dare blame yourself.   Any surgery is a risk and things happen and that you my dear can not be controlled only by the man upstairs.  Everything happens for a reason.   I am glad that she is in the hospital vs being at home and this happened.

My thoughts and prayers are with her and her family and with you.   Keep us posted

Leslie,

Don't be hard on yourself!  If she had an ulcer it was there all along and now they know it and can address it.  She's in the best place she can be to be watched over.  Some people simply have a rough start.  My sis had a five night stay with her Lap RNY.  She was having ulcer issues but I don't remember the bloody stools part.

Think positive and be supportive, as I know you are!

 Leslie,

Please keep us posted about your friend.  She's in my prayers too and remember what Becca said the hospital is the best place for her and you know her doctor and the nurses are working overtime to help her.

Don't be hard on yourself.  It's so evident you are a good friend and care so much for her.
