I am so sorry to hear about your friend.  You can not blame yourself.  I will keep your friend in my prayers.

Leslie, my thoughts and prayers go out to her and you as I know how much of a struggle this is for you as well.  Remember, you recommended the surgery for positive reasons and she and her physician went into the procedure educated and aware.  RNY has many surgical complications that can happen and surgery on obese people is much more dangerous than a healthy skinny person.  Ultimately the surgery is done to improve health and sometimes roadblocks have to be hurdled because of those health issues.  Be there for her, encourage her and guide her spiritually but don't feel guilty...be proud that your friend admires you so much as to listen to your advice and insight....you are an incentive for people, not their decision maker

 ohhhh leslie, please dont feel guilty.. U wanted her to do this to be healthy.. Like Becca said, she's in the best possible place to have issues.. It's going to get its self worked out... it has to cause we are all praying for her!!!

I just got off of the phone with Iman.  She is in good spirits. 
Her surgeon says he is not sure what has caused the bleeding other than her body reacting to surgery.  She received 2 units of plasma and 2 units of blood last night.  They also have her drinking potassium which she says is really nasty.

If all goes well, she may get to go home tomorrow evening.

I so agree with her the liquid form is horrible,took the skin off my lip horrible.
Glad she is better now you take a deep breath..

YOU are a good friend. You have been there day and night through all of this. I am sure in my heart that she does NOT blame you.  I know you will conitnue to be there for her when she comes home and is relaxing. I think your worry is very normal, but remember you can't be there for her if you don't take care of yourself. 
  I agree with Becka and the others she is in the best place and they will take care of her.
  We will all continue to send well wishes and prayer for her and for you too as it is stressful for you too.
