Next Support group?

Being a newbie to these things...can anyone tell me when the next support group meetings are for Norton's and Suburban?  AND what time and where they meet?  I only have 2 months left on my PCP supervision and am trying to incoporate post band life things now.  SO, I thought I'd try to get to a meeting and meet some of you all as well!  Thanks! Kelly, one way I found my surgeon's and hospital's support group is I clicked on my doctor's name on my profile and on their page there is a link that says "Go to Dr So and So's forum".  Going to their forum will list the events they have (like their support groups) and where they are.

Dr. Geller's says to go here!  Ha!  I know his is at Suburban, but Dowtown is just a smidge closer when coming from Owensboro.

Hi Kelly,

When the groups are on their regular schedule the downtown meeting is on the second Tuesdsay of the month.  That means the next one is this coming Tuesday @ 6pm.  It's in the Norton's Pavilion (big blue building) on Broadway.  The parking garage is behind the building and you access it off of Floyd street.  I can give you more specific directions later.

The Suburban meeting is normally on the forth Thursday of the month which means it will be the 22nd this month.  It too starts @ 6pm.  It's in the women's pavilion section of the hospital which means you should park in the garage behind the emergency room entrance (and across from Hooter's) and go in the first floor door.  The meeting room is just down the hallway on the right.

We always try to get there a little early so we can chat.  Lately it seems like most of us have been going to the downtown one only.  George facilitates that meeting and he's our favorite.  Mary is nice but she's simply not "Our George."

I'm still up in the air about making it to the Tuesday meeting.  I have to be down there anyway for my appointment @ 3 and likely wont be done with that until 5-ish so the timing works out but I'll have my 6 year old girl who will likely be climbing the walls by then!  Dawn, still thinking of bringing Katelyn?  If so, I do think that would help Gracie chill out.....LOL....kinda sorta.....

Kelly it does not matter which one you go to.   We have patient from Dr. Gellar and Shina at our meeting downtown   We would love to have you

Both are open to all.  It is not divided by surgeon or surgical type.  There does seem to be a bigger showing of RNY at Suburban.  I'd say it's about 50/50 downtown.

So you'd come via 64 through Indiana, right?

 Kelly, we like the downtown atmosphere more.. Dr.G's patients all go to suburban so do Dr.S's patience.. Im one of the rare few of his that go downtown!
