Revision with Dr. John Oldham
Has anyone had the RNY with Dr. John Oldham at Georgetown Bariatrics in Kentucky? He is my doctor and I'm just wondering what to expect in terms of hospital stay and diet after my revision to RNY. He did my lap band surgery also. I have approval but have not actually gotten any or my information from them yet. Thanks!

Hi... I don't come to this board often but saw your message today. I had Lap RNY with Dr. Oldham on 10-13-08. He is a great surgeon. He was very attentative. i was in the hospital 2.5 days. The first day in ICU and the other 1.5 days in the bariatric unit. (I stayed the extra .5 day awaiting lab results). If you want to talk or have any questions feel free to message me. Good luck!

Hi Deb!
Thanks for responding to my post. I know as busy as Dr. Oldham and Weiss are that there had to be somebody on here that had their surgies with them. I was very happy when he agreed to do my revision from lapband to RnY. My insurance has also approved the revision and i'm just waiting for everything to be scheduled.
Did he make you do any type of pre-op diet such as the liquid? If so, how long? How long was it before you could eat solid food again? Have you thrown up or gotten food stuck? That was a daily occurance with the lapband. You seem to be losing very well, 70 pounds is amazing! How often do you have to go in for a check-up after the RnY?
Lots of questions I know but I haven't actually gotten to talk to him in person yet and I know when I go they will tell me all this but i'm anxious to find out what I can beforehand.
Thanks again!
