Hi Dana! One week away huh! So exciting - do you have an angel that will post on your condition and come to see you in the hospital? I would be happy to help out if you haven't got one yet! Praying your surgery will be smooth and recovery quick, can't wait to hear about your success!
Hugs, Vicki

I owed it to myself to research the duodenal switch before consenting to any other weight loss surgery and so do you. Check out DSFacts.com and DuodenalSwitch.com for more information. Remember think twice, cut once, revisions are risky and revision surgeons are rare.

I don't have an angel yet and would be glad if you would be mine. I'm just worried now that I'll be able to get through the ice to get to the hospital on Tues! I think I might have the rest of the week off to clean my house and get supplies in. I'm off at least tomorrow (I teach in Bullitt Co.) and I'm thinking Thurs. at the earliest before we go back.
Vicki I can't fit in a clam shell so can I be Dana in a band shell?(HA!!!) I might steal Becca's thunder then. Did you have to go to work today?

Hi Tammy -
If you have done your research and know this is what you want then keep heading in that direction
If you know you need more information and need to do more research then you need to do that before you make your decision. I know people who have been very happy, successful with their lapband and I know people who have not done so well and had revisions from lap band to either rny or ds. I am sure you know about the success rate, the eating habits, the lifestyle you will have after surgery.
Trust yourself, listen to others and do what you know is best for YOU.
Best wishes, Vicki

Hi, Tammy! I was wondering where you've been hiding...I haven't seen you on here lately. I know that you and I were very similar in where we were in the process of LapBand surgery. I have this month and next month with my PCP and then the surgeon's office will file my paperwork with my insurance. Where are you in the process? You don't have to decide anything yet! Just do your research and think about what's best for YOU...not your friendsor coworkers, but YOU. No WLS is successful if you're not in it to do what you need to do to be a success.
Anyway, I'm here for you if you need to talk or rant, no matter what you decide!
