Oh, help....I need patience.

Hi everyone and thanks for reading!

Last week I got a call from  the people at the doctors office and they said I needed a 6 mon. diet.   Mind you I have done EVERYTHING down to the vascular surgeon's visit for the greenfield filter to be ready to schedule for late March.  I have been working towards this for over a year now.  I was a bit upset  (that is a major understatement) and tried to put it away for a few days so as not to be hateful to anyone who was just trying to do their job.
So, today I got the courage up to call the insurance and they said IF I have it noted in my file that I have done WW for a substantial period of time I would be fine. I lost 65 pounds on WW (and of course put it all back on) which does require a substantial period of time.  I am almost 100% certaint that I put that in there as I am the one who filled out the doctors packet for me.
IF it is in there than I will go ahead and submit if not I will contact my doc and get him to annotate my records to state that. Then have him send it to Dr. Shina.   I can also try a doc who did my care before I switched to Ft. Knox - a private doc here in town she should remember it, since her records have changed with the changes in the practice.

That is my drama- cause of course I need MORE right?? Well that is where I stand....trying to get it all figured out so as not to spin totally out of control feeling like I will never-ever-ever-ever get this surgery.  Thus I need patience!!

I know I am not alone in the frustration of this process and thank you for listening to me vent yet again. Oh, and please hope we have it all worked out.

thanks for everything.

Bless your heart!  I know you are frustrated.  I wonder what insurance company you use that will let you count having done WW for a substantial amount of time. If my insurance company would have allowed that I could have had my surgery when I first applied.  I think that should count for sure - i sure spent a lot of time and money with WW before I finally gave up and quit trying anything.

Mine is Humana with Ky Retired Teachers Association.  I hope your insurance company follows through with what they told you!  Good luck - and I hope everything will go as you had planned.

Hugs,
Cindy

Hi,
I know how frustrating it is.  My medical records from Dr. Jarboe were lost after she closed her office.  I tried and tried to get them.  I finally decided to forget about my records and just proceed with what I had.  That is when I found out one of my insurance requirements was a FIVE year history of obesity.  I had been going to Dr. J since 2003.  Hmmm... exactly the records I could not get my hands on.  It all worked out, but all those phone calls.  All the times of thinking I had all my info and then not.  There are so many hoops to jump through.

Please vent away.  We all understand.

That also has been frustrating.  I only had my surgery 10 days ago.  I am amazed by the people who question me about  knowing what I was doing.  There is no why to not know completely what I was doing.  Two seminars, Psych Eval, Nut Eval, Dr. Eval, video, classes, pre-test, surg. clearances.  It took months.

THANK YOU EVERYONE!!  If it wasn't for the boards, I would have lost hope a couple of times.

Thanks Becka....
I needed that.
I will do what I need to, but gosh why did they tell me no last June. I am so confused as they keep changing on me.
MANY people I talk to with my insurance also said they did NOT have to. So, I may just say send it!!!
I am just trying to hang on.
Life is spinning circles around me and I am just hanging on.
It is nice to read about other peoples positives...like the cheer group taking 3rd and going to State...that is awesome!!

I wish you wonderful people on this board great days and positive experiences
