Hi I am having surgery on 03/18/04, I would like to know how long surgery last, what do you feel like after surgery, pain, feelings, etc. Also, I want to know how your hospital stay was and how soon you got back on your feet, I just basically want to know the experience for the first few weeks, I am nervous and I feel really anxious, one minute I am happy, the next I want to cancel my surgery. Please help. Thank you Tori

Hi Tori: You can read my profile for a lot more information. Every surgeon is different. for me, my h ospital stay was three nights, pain was not too bad. The first few weeks my surgeon has us on mostly liquids. I drank broth, had jello, thin, watered down purreed soup, and lots of water and protein. After that I was able to progress to things like cottage cheese, or mashed potatoes, yogurt, etc. Most of the programs use a progression to more solid foods. After about two months, I was able to try anything but beef or pork. Good luck, Kat www.katdesign.biz/Weightnomore/index.htm
