I am getting ready to have RNY on 03/19/04, nervous and scared

Hi I am really scared, am I doing the right thing? I need to lose about 130 pounds, and I have been reading the memorial page, I just scare, am I risking my life by having surgery to lose weight, is it normal to feel this scared, but then again, I feel excited at other times, please help. Tori

Tori Congrats on getting a date dont let the morial page get to you it is normal to get scared b-4 your WLS I ot very scared when they started getting me ready but to late then to back out cause done was having my sleeping pills and shot and was out b-4 I knew it You will be fine and do great most all the ppl on he memorial page died from health related problems with their weight and and I think their was 1 that was in a car wreck ver very few died due to WLS itself I ill keep you in my prayers that all goes well and you have a speddy and pain free WLS and recovery Take Care Huggs Beth

HI Tori, I had bariatric surgery in Sept. 2003. I just wanted to say to you that you wouldn't be "normal" if you were not afraid! I was afraid, but excited as well. Just remember to always keep God first and pray about what you are about to do. I have lost almost 100 lbs! Who is doing your surgery? Good Luck and God Bless. Missy
