Newbie - waiting on insurance approval

I am a newbie to the message board. I have started the process, finished my psych eval, sleep study, and pre-op blood work. I am in my 4th month of the doctor supervised diet so that HOPEFULLY insurance will approve me. My surgeon is Dr. Weiss in Georgetown. I have heard many great things on the message boards about the bariatric center in Georgetown. Does anyone have any advice on how to be patient??? I am so ready to begin my journey.

its hard to be patient. I keep a journal to write in here at home, not much else you can do, If you like to read, find a good book and relax. it took my insurance 3 weeks to say ok, and now my surgery is in less then 3 weeks Donna

I wish I had the "answer". I had to wait a total of 15 weeks to get approval (i was denied the first time, and appealed, and won). I called the insurance a lot, and tried to not think about it, but it's soooo hard when you want to start this wonderful new life!! Best of luck, and feel free to email me anytime.

Hi, Robin! I'm getting ready to submit for insurance approval too! I'm seeing Dr. Bolar and Kim has left the office, permenantly, and they have a new guy named James who will be doing the insurance submittals...so I need alot of prayer too! I've done all I can with Medical history and diet history, so I will just have to wait too!
