On the jouney to WLS!
Hi, my name is Amy and I am fairly new to this site. I live in Ky, but traveling to Evansvile, Ind to Liv-Lite. When I first got the call from Penny @ Liv-Lite, I was so excited. I couldn't believe that I finally could get the ball rolling to have the WLS done. I went and seen Dr. Koehler (on May 26th) and he was so nice and listened to all our questions that we had for him. (Mostly answered questions for my husband). Dr. Koehler gave me a sheet to have lab work, an EKG, and chest x-ray done.(for insurance purposes?) I haven't done these yet, I plan to on Friday 6/18/04. Also, I had to have the psych. eval done and seen Dr. Ireland. Well, I have done that and the report should be there by the end of the week.
Anyone that has been to Liv-Lite in Evansville for WLS, any information and encouragement would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Now, once the other test have been done, I was wanting to know.....what happens next? 
Once all test have been sent to Liv-Lite, do they put together a letter for the insurance co.? One person on the message board said that the lab test ususally are not done till closer to surgery date. I know that I need to get in touch with someone at the Liv-Lite office to find out this information, but just wondering if someone had any information for me? I know that most places are different, but just wanted some input from other peers. I feel like such a dork, any informaton would be helpful.
My biggest concern is having the insurance co. approving the surgery. Also, any Out of Pocket expenses. I already paid $225 to have the Pysch. Eval done, due to insurance wouldn't pay, but they told me that they would, so I have to call insurance back to see why that happened. I just don't want to drop the ball on this. This is something that I really need and want to have done. I have so many different feelings about it, ya know. I am anxious, happy, scared, impatient (at times), but I am not going into this unrealisticly. I will not give up!!!
