Anyone have Dr. Alex Argotte for their surgeon?

Hi, Due to the lousy 48 hrs. that aired tonight, I have decided to check out my surgeon a little better. Has anyone had Dr. Alex Argotte of Mayfield KY. for their WLS? He does surgery at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. Any information is greatly appreciated.......Thanks for your help...Jenni

Dear Jennifer, The best thing to do is ask your primary care doctor to find out for you. They can usually find out what his complication and death rate are. Think of it this way , if a surgeon did 100 surgergies and 10 of those patients died, but you heard from 90 patients you would think he was great, the medical community is where you need to find out his reputation.

I have researched Dr. A and could only find one patient who filed a lawsuit against him. I have also talked to many of his patients here and they are completely satisfied with his competency and bed side manner as well. To date he has not lost a patient. I believe he is a very thorough surgeon who is doing all he can to prevent problems from arising not only during the surgery but down the road as well.If you have any questions feel free to ask me, I will be having surgery next Thursday so I will out of pocket for several days but I will try to check my emails when my husband brings his laptop to the hospital. Jennifer,my surgery is 10/05/04 ,and ALEX ARGOTTE is doing my surgery. Don't know about the law suit,but i know of one that did die.

Hi jennifer I had my surgery by dr. argotte at lourds hospital on 11/24/03. Him and lourds is a1, he is very carefully and I had no problems at all. there is 2 other people around me that had him and they are doing real good. Good luck and god bless. john

I have checked out the Ky. medical board, and have learned alot about Dr. Argotte, but the real help has been hearing from those of you that he has already done the surgery on. He is a wonderful doctor, I had surgery in april and feel wonderful!!! I have even emailed his office for questions and was answered within 24 hours. The Bariatric care at Lourdes is wonderful too! Donna -70
