Dr. Shina Consult Fee

I called for a consult and had one for August 31, 2004. I then called back to cancel my opp because I was having a hard time coming up with $400.00 up front so when I called to cancel they told me there was no longer a fee and they moved my consult to Sept 7, 2004. I assumed there was no fee but when I got there they told me there was a fee of $75.00 I needed to pay before they would send my case to the Insurance Co. They said there would also be another $75.00 later on down the road. I never seen the nutritionist she called me on the phone so I guess I am paying $75.00 for a 5 minute phone call. CRAZY. I wish they would make up their minds on the cost. I am a little worried what other charges they will have later. Please let me know if anyone knows what kind of fees I am in for. I hope these dates on the fee change might help. Good Luck Sherri

Hey, Sherry, when u find out let me know. I am going to call them Monday morning and see exactly I will be out of pocket for. Or I will email Rite Weigh and see what they have to say about it. Angela

Hi Sherry I had to pay 250.00 for administration fee's and 150.00 for the nutritionist and that was July 29,04 Sherry B.

I know a lot of people that paid the $400.00 and some of them were asking for the dates of when the fee changed. On 8/31/04 there was a $400.00 fee then on 9/7/04 there was a $75.00 fee. Like I said some people paid much more than I did and was needing the dates of the fee change so they could try to get a refund because thats really not fair. The fee was for Weigh Rite / Nutritionist. I asked how much more I would need to pay them and she said there was another $75.00 fee for a second consult type class. So it is $150.00 to become a member of the Weigh Rite program that Dr. Shina requires you go through before the surgery. I guess I was lucky to only have to pay $150.00. Thanks Sherri
