BCBS

Hi all!! Blue Cross seems to keep losing my paper work and I was wondering if anyone out there has had this problem. They claim to have only gotten half the paper work and info they need but the Dr's office said they sent it all so for now they can not process my claim until we send it yet again. I was also wondering if anybody has been approved recently with BCBS. I am not sure if having BCBS is a good thing or bad when it comes to getting this surgery approved so if anyone has dealt with them and can let me know what I am in for I would surely appreciate it. my surgeon had to resend everything at least three times. Stay on em cause they are trying to stall. Some BCBS plans won't cover this after Jan 1, 2005 so don't let em stall ya. Hope this helps!

Sherri, I had that problem with BCBS of IL over the summer. They even changed the requirements 2 weeks after they received my appeal, but didn't review my appeal until after the changes. Since then my hubby got a new job and I got on with his new insurance, Independence Blue Cross, and I got approved in 3 days. All they had to do was call and the rep called the bariatric center back with approval. It just all depends on which BCBS you have. Good Luck and Keep Calling! Carolyn

I have BC/BS of Alabama and I just found out yesterday that I was approved for the surgery. They processed everything in about a week. However, they did processs my paperwork using the wrong code and tried to deny me. But the day that we discovered this, they immediately went in and reprocessed everything using the correct code the same day. Also there have been a lot of people approved thru BC/BS, so just stay on them! Good Luck
