what do I need to do before having surgery
I am scheduled for my consult on Feb. 1st. then my psy. visit on Feb l4. Then all I need to do is see the nutritionist and be approved by my insurance. Is there anything I should be doing now like starting to eat lprotein more and less carbs or something. I've never seen anywhere where anybody has talked about that. Or do I just wait for the nutritionist to tell me what to do. I guess I am just so excited about this I just want to do everything right and be ready for when the time comes. Thank you for any help you might can give me. Judy
You can do that if you want.
But me I waited until I had too. I wanted to enjoy all those bad foods
I knew I would not be eating for a long time!!!
You do not know how long it will take your insurance to make a decision.
Depending on your BMI if you lose too much weight you will not qualify.
But if you can lose a lot than you can avoid surgery. It is a catch 22.
Darn if you do, darn if you don't!!
Just relax and let the Dr & nutritionist advise you.
Best of luck

Judy,
After seeing Dr. Rodriquez for my initial consultation, he wanted me to get cardiac and pulmonary clearance (I have chronic asthma). So I had to see a cardiologist and a pulmonologist. A friend of mine, who was waiting on her 1st consult, figured she would need these tests too, so she went ahead before her consult and had these tests done. She had her PCP order them. You might want to check with your PCP about this because if you wait until your consult, it may take a few weeks to get in to see the other doctors and might slow things down. I had to bring the reports from these other doctors back to Doctor Rod on my second visit. Hope this helps.
