Hello everyone this is my...
Hello everyone this is my first post,i have been 'SURFING FOR AWHILE NOW'on these boards and i really like being here, there is so much info. here.Iam thinking about this surgery, but just not sure yet as what i want to do,I have seen Dr.Stinner for another medical problem.and he was very upfront and i liked him immediately,he has a great bedside manner.Any way long story short he decided not to do my hernia he said i was to high of a risk, but if i ever decided to have it be sure and contact him.My dr. wasn't happy with his choice so off to Cleveland Ohio my dh,son and i went for a 2nd. opinnion, i saw 3 specialist while there and the last one i saw recommended this procdure,to take care of the problem. While there I had several tests i saw the dietiation and the Physi.i was told to loose 10lb.and return Jan.11,2005.He said i was a risk but he hsd done many of these and i would be ok.He like Dr.Stinner said i had a very interesting case.So I came home for Christmas had loads of company to say the least I didn't loose my 10lbs. and they were so mad,at me.They had a conference and the 3of them decided that for now I was in need of learning how to eat,[I am not one to eat during the day]and they are not happy, soooooooooooo he talked to me like I was some kind of no gooder,my husband got so upset with him we walked out without knowing the results of my other tests. We returned home and a few weeks later he called and ask if was ready to have the surgery,my tests showed that I needed to have this done, was so upset with him that I ask him to send all my records,he said yes and I hung up.So now I am looking for all the info.I can find. And this board has been the best.So I would love to hear from all of you that have had Dr.Stinner, let me know. thank you marie.

If you are talking abour Dr. Josh Steiner at the Center for Weight Loss Surgery in Lexington, I would be happy to have you email me. Just go to the profile button under my post and email me. I was a very high risk patient. He had no fear taking me on after he talked to another one of my surgeons. He has operated on me three times and saved my life at least twice when I was dying.

Doctor Steiner did my surgery on Oct. 4. I can't speak highly enough about him or the care that I received at St. Joseph East during my stay. He is a fine surgeon with a very compassionate and caring nature.
I had a complication that was no fault of Dr. Steiner's and it was his dedication and attentiveness to my condition that ended up saving my life. He recognized a problem and monitored it non-stop, ultimately performing emergency surgery at midnight the same night as my RNY. I came through with no further incident 4 days later.
I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone... in fact I have and my friend had his surgery about 5 weeks ago with NO problems and as of the 4 1/2 week mark had lost 93#!
Good luck!
