New to group

Hi I would like to find out problems people have had with the lapband surgery I am already approved for surgery I even have a date for April 6th but would like to hear from others about experiences Thanks Terry

I too am new to the group and also having lap-band surgery on April 6. Where are you having your surgery and who is your doctor? I went to the Complications forum but the majority of entries aren't about the lap-band, which made me feel better. Good luck! Laura W

Wow Laura I am having mine at Caritas My doctor is Lusco who is doing your's and have you heard anything bad?? I know 3 people that have had it down and have not lost much weight both around 30lbs and 1 has lost 53lbs not bad i guess Hope to hear from you soon Terry

Hey Terry, I had my band put in 7 months ago. I haven't had any problems at all other than being too tight a couple of times. They removed a little bit of the saline and everything was great. I have lost around 65 lbs in 7 months and I couldn't be happier. OH also has a band board. I TOO HAD THE LAB BAND FIRST. I HAD THE SURGERY ON JANUARY 6, 2003. I LOST ALMOST 80 POUNDS, HAD 2 MISCARRIAGES AND GAINED MOST OF MY WEIGHT BACK, IF NOT MORE. I JUST HAD MY SECOND SURGERY THE OPEN RNY ON MARCH 11TH, 2005 AND I AM MUCH HAPPIER. I ALREADY LOST 25 POUNDS. IF I WOULD HAVE TO DO IT AGAIN I WOULD GO FOR THE RNY IN THE FIRST PLACE. MONIKA
