I went back to Doctor Rodriquez today for my two week post-op appointment, and I am so glad that I had him as my surgeon. He was so kind to me today, and was very pleased with my progress. He had me come down the hall and asked me to show my incision to another patient who was contemplating surgery, just to show off how small it is, and how well it had healed in two weeks. Anyways, I would reccommend him to anyone, and I am very happy to say he is my new hero! Sheila

I am really glad you are doing well! I know someone else who loves Dr.Rodriquez too! If you don't mind me asking..did you have the RNY open or laproscopic? Just wondering...I am looking into having the RNY and prefer lap but I know if need be..it could go open during surgery. Congrats again!

He only does open rny. He is the best doctor around!! I am an army dependent and I saw my regular doctor about two weeks ago. He was telling me that he has NEVER had anyone to complain about Dr. Rodriquez nor have to treat someone from Dr. Rod. He went on to tell me that he has had to treat people from other open rny people from other doctors. Of course, he wouldn't tell me their names. LOL You know, I just had to ask. LOL Toni

I couldn't agree more with you!!!! He is so awesome!!! I am glad I chose him as well and would tell everyone to go to him. I had a leak at the bottom of my incision and freaked out. Mind you it was around 10:00pm, he didn't waste any time calling me back and letting me know I was going to be okay and that was normal. He is making me see him every three months from now on due to a hernia. It is sad when you don't mind going to the doctor. LOL I use to hate it soooo much. Toni

Shannon, I had the open RNY. My incision is about 5 inches long. It's really not bad at all, and I just felt better knowing that the doctor was being hands-on with things, if you know what I mean. I'm sure either way is good, but if having Doctor Rodriquez meant having open, then I would have the open any day! Sheila

My surgeon was Dr. larson, who is in the same office as Dr. Rodriguez. When my surgeon was on vacation I saw Dr. Rodriguez because I developed major complications. He was a friendly man and has a great "bedside" personality. I love Dr. larson as well. Both are tremendous surgeons and great Humans.. Both show incredible amount of care and concern for their patients

Hi Shelia, I am so glad you are doing so good. I pray that you continue to do well. From reading some profiles, healing in 2 weeks is great. Apparently some take longer to heal. Again, I am so glad you are doing well. Judy

Shiela..Doctor Rod was my surgeon..and he truely is the greatest. I'd never had surgery in my life until the open rny, and he was the best. I think I did remarkably well..and yes in 2 weeks (well 3 days from the hospital-total 7 days from surgery) I was driving! And I haven't slowed down since...I'm down about 120 lbs since 8/26. I see him this Wednesday-I'll tell him we all think he's the BEST!! BEST OF LUCK ON THE LOSING SIDE! RENEE
