Elizabethtown Support Group ??

Hi! I was wondering if any of you know of WLS support group meetings around the Elizabethtown/Radcliff area? I am very new to the message board and am thinking about having the lap-band procedure. I am aware of support meetings in Louisville and Georgetown - but it would be nice to find a group a little closer to home. I would appreciate any input and advice that you have! Best Wishes! Hi Charles, do u know where Home Depot is on Ring Rd? There is a gym right beside it and they have a support group meeting the first Monday of every month, I am not sure on the time. I will try to call them and see for ya. Angela

Angela, Thanks for responding to my message!! I've seen your name on the messages before and noticed that you are also from E-Town. I know exactly where the new gym is at - it's only a couple of miles from my house. Do you know if you have to be a member of that gym to go to the meetings? Thanks again!! Charles & Angela, The time is 7 PM for the meetings and no you don't have to be a member of the club to attend. It is real informal. Usually held in the "couch & chair" area just past the desk. Shirlene W

Shirlene, Thanks for the information!! I was just looking at my calendar and noticed that the first Monday of May is this coming Monday. I plan to come to the meeting and hope to learn more about WLS. I read your profile and it is truly inspirational. You should be so proud of all that you have accomplished since December. It is wonderful that you can walk the hills in your subdivision and enjoy taking care of your grandson!! Thanks again!! Charles

That sounds great! I am new the area and it would be a lot easier to go to e town for support than Louisville.. I currently go to the one in Louisville... please let me know on the board the times.. if you have found out.. I am not familiar iwth the gym.. May i have driving directions.. Hi Tonya, the meeting starts at 7pm the first Monday of each month. I am not sure where u r coming from, but most everyone in this area knows where Walmart is. Down the road from Walmart is Ring Rd, there will be a redlight with a Walgreens on one side of Ring Rd and a Five Star gas station on the other. U turn toward the Five Star and u should see signs for Home Depot. Go to the light at the bottom of the Home Depot parking lot, turn in, u should see the gym up in the corner, hope this helps, if not email me. Angela

thanks Angela.. I just moved this weekend to Radcliff... I actually do know where Ring Rd is though... Just not familiar with the gym.. But With your directions it should not be a problem to locate.... Will you be there this evening? Is it usually a fairly decent turn out? Thanks in advance.. I know the one in Louisville usually has 12-20 people a meeting...
