Hi I have lost 38 pounds since my surgery on March 24. I weighed 311 the morning of surgery and I weigh 273 today. I can't tell yet that I have lost any, but others say that they can in my face and shoulders. Can anyone tell me about how much I will have to lose before I can really see a difference? I know we are all different, what was the point of your weight loss when u could look at your self and say, "Oh my!"? I can tell in my clothes. I am just anxious to be able to tell my looking. Thanks and God Bless! Love and Prayers Angela 3/24/05 311/273=157 (Dr's goal)/140 (my goal)

Like you said we are all different. I was 226.5 the morning of surgery. 2 weeks ago when I stepped on the scale I was 171.5!!! 55 pounds gone!! Many people and myself could see my weight loss in my face first. For me personally I would say at about 40 pounds I really noticed it in my clothes!! that was exciting!!! Now at 55 pounds gone I look in the mirror and can see with my own eyes that really getting smaller!! I have been a slow loser and that is ok with me. I think by losing slower maybe I will be a success in this battle of the bulge!! The main thing is too not let yourself get discouraged. Do what Dr Shina says and you will be fine!! I get into a "slump" once in a while. Yesterday I noticed I was eating more than usual. I went outside and took a walk. It is hard to ALWAYS make the right choices. BUT now we have a new tool or pouch to help us in this war with bad foods. Hang in there my weight loss buddy!!! Blessings Tonya

Your self body image lags behind about 6 months to a year your actually weight lose. Sometimes at 3 years out. I still look at myself and see fat.
