Update

Hi everyone! I got my first lap-band fill today and it went well. It took Dr. Geller a little while to find the port, but once he did he added 4 cc to my 10 cc band. As for my weight loss, I've lost 46 pounds in the 7 weeks since surgery and I'm really excited about the progress so far. Dr. Geller was very pleased with my results and actually said that my results looked more like an RNY patient. Needless to say, that made my long wait worthwhile. That is Great Charles! So, forgive me, but do they fill your band in increments? I have no clue how that works...But it is WORKING for you! Whoo Hooo!!! Huggs Sunni

Hi Sunni! The fills are in increments. I have the 10cc lap-band and my surgeon added 4 cc at my first fill. I will go back again in 4-6 weeks and let him know how I'm doing and he may add more if I need more restriction from my band. This continues until I hit the "sweet spot" where I can be satisfied with a small portion of food. That's the theory anyway. How have you been? Did you get many responses on the WLS group meetings beyond the ones in E-Town & Radcliff? I still think it is a good idea. My best! Charles

Congrats to you!!!that must make you feel so good. When was the last time you lost 46pounds and felt so much joy. It would take me forever and all the time I would beat myself up over and over. My hat goes off to you. Keep on loosing.

Charles, I was on Vacation last wk (Vegas!!), and I'm trying to read all the posts I missed. Came across yours and WOW-- 46 lbs!! That is just wonderful!! It's getting about time to show a latest pic. I'm still sitting on the fence so to speak. Do I try insurance again, or go on down to Mexico?? Reading posts like yours just makes me more determined to have the band done with or without insurance. Keep up the good work and keep posting!
