DENIED!!!!

Ok guys Humana has denied me. I am so sad and upset. Last year at this same time I was denied by BCBS because I needed 12 months supervised attempt at weight lose. I did my time but my hisband changed jobs and now we have Humana. When I went to their website this morning to check the status of my claim for this surgery it said I was disapproved so I called them to ask WHY. They told me that they dont know!!!! Can you believe it. I just started this insurance on 8/8/05 and they are telling me they cant access my policy yet. How in the heck am I denied when they cant access my policy and how can they disapprove me when they DONT KNOW WHY. The lady told me to call back later today or tomorrow and maybe she will have my answers. I just dont get it at all. I am so confused and frustrated. I guess I can start looking for an appeal letter so if any one has a good appeal letter sample PLEASE let me know. Thank You All In Advance Sherri

First of all take a very deep cleasning breath!! Now relax!!! Call your Dr's office first thing in the morning. They should have an insurance person who handles these things. Try to keep taking deep breaths. Maybe the insurance company has just overlooked something or needs more info. It is going to be fine. Does your policy have a pre-existing condition waiting period?? That could be the reason??? Let us know what you find out. Blessings Tonya

Well I have called Humana like a crazy person wanting to know why I was denied but no one can tell me still. I just cant believe this. I JUST DONT GET THIS MESS AT ALL. They told me I would recieve my letter explaining why I was denied so I guess I just wait until then. I am just so socked that no one knows why I am denied!!!!! I didnt think there would be a pre-existing waiting period because I was told that nothing would be pre existing because I necer had a lapse in insurance coverage. I was actually covered by Humana and BCBS at the same time for about a month. I am so UPSET and FREAKING OUT about this. I will let you know what my letter says when I get it. Contact Gary Viscio, he is an obesity help attorney. Gary has had the surgery and can get anyone approved. He has even gotten some people approved with exclusions. I was going to hire him but it turned out I didn't need too. I don't remember his email but just go to "Find Peers" go to NY, then the first letter of his last name V, then u should find Gary Viscio on that page. He has had the surgery and wants everyone to have it. His fees aren't bad at all. I was going to have to pay $450 and yes that is alot of money but not when u consider that this is a life saving surgery.
